From Mithi, drive in the direction of Viannos. Take the second exit to Kato Symi going up to the right. You pass some tavernas (which serve lovely food) and continue up towards the plateau. The beginning of the trip is on a sealed road, but if you want to go all the way to the top of the plateau, a 4x4 is highly recommended.
