Thanks for visiting our website. Here is a brief overview of Spitimas (“Our Home” in Greek), a paradise under the stars.

Spitimas was built in 2008. It shares a 7000 m2 site, which was formerly an olive grove, with 3 other homes. Wherever possible, as much of the original environment has been preserved including several centuries old olive trees. It makes for a wonderful location, surrounded by mountains and stunning views over the Libyan Sea from the terrace, garden and pool. During the day, eagles, falcons, vultures and peregrines, some with a wingspan of up to 1.5 m, can be seen circling in the valley. A wonderful sight!

In the evening you can relax on your garden lounge and listen to the “sounds of silence”, occasionally interrupted by the sounds of the crickets.

However, if you do want more activity, you can find it in the seaside village of Mirtos about 4 km down the easy mountain road. It has several lovely restaurants and tavernas along its main street. Another option is Ierapetra, which is a bigger town, an easy drive about 20 km from Spitimas. More information about these can be found elsewhere on this website.
